Welcome to SCIES

The Flagstaff SCIES program is designed as a tool for teachers, students, and ordinary citizens who want to get outside and experience the feel and thrill of real science. We have provided activities that can be accomplished by all ages and on any budget.

We have designed studies in hydrology, forestry and pedology (the study of soil) that incorporate the "real" scientific aspects of data collection, normalization, graphical representations, and rudimentary statistics.

We also have collected and adapted a variety of activities for students of all ages that are designed to be simple, fun ways for children to experience nature.

We have a new Evaluation questionnaire! If you have used one of our protocols or activities, we would love to hear your feedback. We are constantly trying to improve our resources to be as convenient and easy to use as possible.
